"Whooo" moments are the precious moments during life's journey that makes you say "whooo". I believe that life gives you lots of "Whooo" moments- you just have to take the time to recognize them. This blog documents all my "Whooo" moments I've experienced since I first got the silly idea to run my first marathon. Read all about me complaining about how tired I am or how I am afraid of animal attacks, laughing with friends, the views from race courses and the things I learn along the way...

May 25 2005 ...You know your a runner when a shoe clinic sounds fun!
Today was a learning day. I attended a “Shoe Clinic”. You may be thinking that a shoe clinic does not sound very fun, but let me tell you that it was actually very interesting. I learned a lot about shoes and I thought I’d post some of the more interesting points: 1. NEVER wash your running shoes. This ruins them.2. Running shoes should be at least 1 full size larger than your normal shoes. Your feet swell when you run.3. You know that little loop in the back of your running shoes- that’s an extra shoe lace! I also learned other running factoids like this: Men who complete marathons are encouraged to wear nipple shields to prevent their nipples from chaffing and bleeding! They said it’s common to see men who don’t wear these shields to have blood streaked down their shirts after a marathon! Yuck. Lucky for me- I’m running in the Nike Marathon for Women- so hopefully I wont have to see this for myself.
