Raining in Humboldt

Humboldt County is the most beautiful county in all of California, so of course my friends and I use the Avenue of the Giants Half Marathon as an excuse to go camping there for the weekend.

Which would have been great if not for the fact that it rained like crazy and our campsite ended up flooding, our tent filled with water and my car battery died.

So we ended up being cold a miserable, and left the day before the race. Because who really wants to be cold and miserable BEFORE the race?

But just my luck, when we get back to Sacramento our friends who stayed in Humboldt call to tell us that race day was clear skies and beautiful weather!
